The major part of my job is to plan and maintain a productive, organic, sustainable garden, and to surpervise community volunteers in it.
My childhood on a farm was community orientated, and work was fun.
I have studied Certified Organic Production, and grew certified organic produce at the Biological Husbandry Unit (BHU) in Lincoln for 3 years.
Years of work have established this beautiful community garden and I am privileged to be part of it.The gardens offer nurture, creativity and produce that will satisfy the soul.
Everyone entering the gardens feels better for it. Community begins with a community garden!
Catherine and I work as a team together with the Board of Trustees as our governing body.
My role is to keep track of all the funding, apply for funding and generally to administer all the financial matters of the gardens.
I also support Catherine with the volunteers when and where necessary and especially help with the children’s programmes that we have at the gardens.
It is my belief that the gardens are a great tool to help people of all walks of life to find potential and to be inspired to live a more sustainable life.
